These are un-edited comments from PSN customers who felt compelled to write us and comment on the performance of the Globalstar equipment they purchased from us.
Don, we are Ventura County Search and Rescue . We have been doing a demo test for Globalstar for a month. We took it to central Yukon Territory of northern Canada about 100 miles south of the arctic circle and it sounded like a good cell phone. In addition I took it on an assignment to central Mexico during their recent elections. It worked like a charm Tim Hagel
(From Don Rickerson - PSN) Bermuda Trials- Several people have taken PSN rental units to the Bermuda islands with excellent results. Artic Circle Tests- A unit sent above the Arctic circle in north east Canada did not work, as was expected. This was outside the coverage area so we thought it would fail, but we had to try it. Another test will be below the Artic Circle this month, this test is expected to work. RV Test -- I visited a Recreation Vehicle center last week to see how the Globalstar(r) unit would work inside an RV. It worked well. Of course, it will not work inside a metal enclosure, but since today's RVs are made of fibreglass I was able to get a good signal in most interior areas, including the bathroom. This is good news for RV folks traveling in areas not covered by cellular service. The fibreglass roof test results should apply to sailboats, too.
