IRIDIUM SERVICE NOW OFFERED We are happy to announce that PSN now is able to offer both Iridium and INMARSAT service through a dealership arrangement with Stratos. PSN can now offer its members a full range of satellite service from satellite data to satellite voice. WEB PAGE FACELIFT We're about to give the PSN web page a facelift. This make-over will give the site a fresh, appealing look and will allow us to better organize and index the information. We will also be moving to a new online catalog service that will be better than the original one. Of course, as we move the site to a new server there may be a temporary outage while all the DSN tables are upgraded with the new IP address. MAGELLAN GSC-100 STILL SCARCE The popular Magellan GSC-100 units are still in short supply. So far, we expect to be getting three more in December. If you should find one elsewhere remember that you can still register your unit with PSN by having us file your paperwork with ORBCOMM. By registering with PSN you can avoid the $49.95 activation fee and enjoy more services. CARIBBEAN TEST Two PSN units will be in the Caribbean for the next few months testing the various satellite services aboard a private boat. The units under test are Magellan GSC-100s. Good records are being kept and we will get a web page with the results. SPORTSMAN'S SHOW IN CHANTILLY, VA PSN will have a booth at the Sportsman's Show at the Expo Center in Chantilly in February. This is a four- day show with about 40,000 people attending. We will be approaching outfitters and adventure sportsman with the idea of either buying, leasing or renting the GSC-100 for communications in the outback. RENTING AND LEASING PROGRAMS PSN is preparing a program which will allow you to rent, lease-to- buy, or just lease the GSC-100 satcom unit. The renting program will be for individuals or groups who only have a short-term need for a GSC-100,typically a month or less. At the end of the month they can either return the unit and get their deposit back or convert to a purchase agreement. Businesses that wish to lease units (at least three units for a minimum of three months) can use the leasing program to meet seasonal needs. See the web page for details on each plan. HAMFEST 99 IN DAYTON, OH We have signed up for a indoor booth at the Dayton HamFest where about 25,000 ham radio operators converge for three days, May 14-16.
