D500 ORBCOMM MESSAGE INTERFACE UNIT

PSN is now a distribuator for the Discovery 500 Message Interface unit for Orbcomm Satcom equipment. The D500 unit is a "plug and play", rugged, easy to use industrial interface unit. Its icon-based screens are easy to use and backlite for reading in the dark. We have pictures of the unit with day and night views of the screen on the website. Basic satcom setups and GSP reading can be done from the unit. We will even customize screen s and messages to make for attractive and efficent messaging. It sure beats using a PC for an interface, it even beeps at you when you have a incoming message. See the website for complete details.

INMARSAT M4 READY

The INMARSAT M4 satellite terminal, which is capable of both 4.8 and 64 kbps data rates is being shipped on order. The PSN web site has the information sheets on coverage, cost and operation of the M4 unit from Nera.

IRIDIUM INCREASES MONTHLY PAGING MESSAGING LIMIT

PSN is pleased to announce that the monthly message limit for Iridium World Pager customers has been increased from 200 to 400 messages per month. Additionally, on January 15th, 2000, e-mail text messages will no longer p opulate the message with the sender's address. This change allows all 120 single byte characters to be utilized as message content.

900 MHz TWO-WAY RADIO AND PHONE

PSN has tested and is now offering a great industrial strength 900 MHz two-way radio and phone interface unit from Engenius Technologies. They look like cell phones, but they are provide full duplex (two-way) intercom calls between unit--for up to five miles line-of-site or through 11 floors of a building or about a mile in dense ground cover! I tried it an it worked. Additionally, the base unit has telephone interface so you can call through any handset through the base unit to the phone interface; even to a satellite phone! We did it through a INMARSAT Mini-M and it worked great. Now your network of radios (up to nine per base unit) can all talk discreetly to each other AND can call through the base satellite phone or landline. See our web site for details.
