IRIDIUM CELLULAR AVAILABLE Iridium now has both the GSM and AMPS/CDMA cassettes available for the Motorola 9500 Satellite Phone. The units can be registered in two ways. First, as an Iridium Cellular Roaming Customer, in which you are charged the Iridium rate of $1.59/min plus any local connection fees. You will have the same telephone number for both services and Iridium has no monthly fee for roaming. The second method is to register you cellular cassette with a local cellular provider, in which you get their local rates and a separate telephone number for cellular service. This make the phone a bit more flexible.
