New Globalstar Car Kits GCK-1400B 

The new Globalstar car kit is now available. It features a much smaller external antenna--only 2.5 inches tall! They have removed the diplexer from the antenna and instead run a dual coax to the antenna. The antenna has a built-in magnetic base for easy removal, or it can be permanently mounted.

INMARSAT D+ Service 

PSN is evaluating the new INMARSAT D+ service. D+ offers real-time service with near-worldwide tracking coverage and a limited messaging capability. The full transceiver unit will retail for less than $1000, and the monthly service rate will be very reasonable. We have bought a couple of units and are putting them through a series of tests. The test reports and pictures will be on our web site. The D+ service is linked to our web-based Sat-Trac mapping service offering a very affordable package. Leasing terms available.

Satphone Rentals and Leasing

Iridium Coming Back 

PSN will be offering Iridium service again, we expect the service and equipment to be ready in April. Handsets range in price from $495 to $1495, pagers are $295, voice service $20, calls $1.50/min, and pager service $70/month. See the web site for full details.

ORBCOMM Sold 

ORBCOMM filed Chapter 11 earlier this year and is now up for auction. The final bid is being reviewed and is expected to be accepted.
