Iridium 9505A Phones Receiving Invalid Battery Messages
Recently, many Iridium phones have been getting a message stating, ”Invalid Battery”. It has been determined the issue is usually NOT a bad battery. Iridium has offered the following preventative steps:

bullet Use your phone as normal.
bullet Ignore the battery meter display and the "Low Battery" message.
bullet Do not charge the battery until the battery is completely discharged, indicated by the phone shutting down on its own. Leave the phone on when not making calls will help discharge the battery.
bullet Once the battery is completely discharged, charge the battery by connecting a charger to the phone for at least 4 hours if possible. This complete discharge/charge cycle will reset the battery meter accuracy

In addition, a new version of firmware for the 9505A handset, developed to enhance the accuracy of the 9505A satellite phone battery charge level indicator, is now in available to all Service Providers for downloading. Plan to get you 9505A upgraded.
