GSC-100 Pricing- Now that there seem to be other Magellan resellers offering the GSC-100 at $999, we want to make sure that our Pioneer subscribers are getting the best deal in the world, so we will include free registration with you order (a $50 value). Plus remember that when you get a GSC-100 for PSN it is ready to go out-of-the-box. We pre-register and test each unit before it is shipped. PIN Protection. PSN members have the option of PIN protection for their satcom unit. That is, anyone sending you a message to your satcom unit will have to include the phase "PIN XXXXXXX" on the Subject: line of the message or it will be rejected. This feature protects you from paying for unwanted messages. Other unique messing services are in the works that will make PSN indispensable while your in the field. Latest Satellite Elements. For those of you using orbit prediction programs, like OrbView from www.nlsa.com, you can get the latest ORBCOMM satellite elements by sending an email to elements@skyhelp.net This is a auto-reply address so no need for any subject or message body. OrbView is an excellent program for predicting passes and coverage areas. TTY Testing. The PSN email-to-TTY Telephone testing is going well and a Press Release has been prepared to announce the successful testing. Joe Duarte, president and founder of Duarte in Fairfax, VA will be assisting in the marking of this service to the speech and hearing impaired. Stellar Lower Prices. Stellar has reduced the price on their EL-2000 and EL-2000G units by $50. This makes the member price for the El-200 and EL-2000G $688 and $931 (for PSN members) respectively, greater discounts are available for larger orders. Satellite communications through PSN are becoming more affordable everyday. PSN to Antarctica. PSN has agreed to support an expedition to Antarctica. Watch the web page for the upcoming trip to Antarctica by a group of scientists who will be using the PSN satellite network to keep in contact with the world. You see weekly updates on their travels. They will also have some great tips to offer others going on remote travels. They will be leaving in November and will have a web page that will give all the details. ORBCOMM Successful Launch. ORBCOMM has successfully launched their "B" plane into orbit. These satellite will be coming on line soon. When these satellite are all operational the availability of the ORBCOMM satellite will be up to 75% . The third launch is due in September and will come on-line by the end of the year bringing the availability to over 90% in much of the world. HELP WANTED--TTY Testers.
