 | Manassas, VA. 6 January 1999 -- PSN FIRST IN
SPACE WITH SATELLITE E-COMMERCE. Personal Satellite Network, (PSN), a provider of
global two-way messaging services, today announced they have achieved a first in satellite
communications by sending and receiving a credit card verification utilizing the ORBCOMM

using inexpensive satellite data communications. |

|
 | June 7, 1998 -- My Day with the GSC-100. This
past weekend (7 June) I had a booth at the Manassas Hamfest. I asked Orbcomm to loan me a
Magellan GSC-100 hand-held satellite terminal and GPS for our display, and they let me use
a beta test terminal for a day. Based on that use, here are my admittedly biased
impressions. (The unit had a built in GPS receiver, but since I was not concerned about
that capability this article only looks at the satcom features.)
|
 | December 23, 1997 -- Personal Satellite Network
Update, Orbcomm Launch News DULLES, VA. ORBCOMM Global, L.P. (ORBCOMM), the first
provider of commercial global low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellite data and messaging
communications services, today announced the successful launch of eight satellites into
their target orbit approximately 500 miles above the Earth. |
