Using your Globalstar™ Phone (Download this document in PDF format) To access the Globalstar™ Satellite System First, raise the "big" antenna in the back to a vertical position. Make sure the phone as a good view of the sky and turn it on. It will search for a satellite and attempt to register itself; the satellite icon in the upper left of the screen shows it is looking for the satellite. When it registers, an "i" symbol appears and the end of the word Globalstar™. The signal strength is also shown. If the phone cannot find a satellite it will attempt to for a cellular connection, you can tell by what icons are on the screen what it is doing. Please read the owner guide for more details. How to dial telephone numbers on a Globalstar™ Telephone Except for US/Canadian calls, all telephone numbers must be preceded with the international country code, then the telephone number. For example in the US the country code is 1, so to call a US telephone number enter: +1-area code-telephone number (hold the zero key for a second and a "+" appears on the screen. Press the "send" key to start the call process. Calling your Globalstar™ Telephone Someone calling you on your Globalstar telephone in the US/Canada can dial +1 and you 10- digit telephone number 1-254-XXX-XXXX, outside of your domestic area must first dial their international access number (011 in the US), the US country code (1), then your 10-digit Globalstar™ number. If you have activated the cellular telephone, it will have a separate telephone number assigned by the cellular carrier. Checking Voice Mail / Text Messages on your Globalstar™ Telephone Voice Mail alerts are automatically sent to the phone when it is turned on and the phone beeps at you to say you have a message(s). You check you Voice Mail by dialing your Globalstar™ telephone number and pressing "1" when you hear the greeting. You can check your Voice Mail from any phone. Free 19 character text messaging to the phone is free from the Globalstar™ web site. Popular Country Codes
